Tips for Selling Your Home
Although it might not seem like it, spring is just around the corner. If you're thinking of selling your home, here are some tips to help make a favorable impression with buyers:
- Make sure the lawn is cut and edged and the bushes trimmed.
- Paint the front door and touch up any peeling paint on the exterior.
- Have carpets professionally cleaned. Replace those that are worn.
- Repair any cracks or holes in walls.
- Paint rooms that have not been painted in the past few years. Choose light, neutral colors.
- Pay attention to the kitchen: remove clutter from the countertop; keep cabinets clean and organized; replace the kitchen floor if worn.
- Spruce up older bathrooms with new towel racks, shower curtain, and towels. Keep all personal care items out of sight.
- Organize the basement, garage, and closets and keep them clutter free.
- Keep windows clean and replace any broken panes.
- Make sure each room is well lit and that all lights are working.
- Buy fresh cut flowers to add to your
home's appeal.
